While The Pipers Play - Innes Ruins Sunset Tour

Take a step back in time at Innes Ruins near Port Macquarie, as the lone piper plays old Scottish tunes. You'll be guided through the extensive ruins of a convict-built estate that extended far beyond the horizon in the 1830s.

Major Innes and his family were one of the richest families in the colony. Their hospitality was legendary. You'll hear about the changing times and the lives of the convicts who served out their time here.

Then, watch the sunset over Lake Innes while the piper plays, according to tradition.

Remember to wear closed shoes and bring a warm jacket, non-aerosol insect repellent and a hand torch.
