World Helicopter Day 2022
World Helicopter Day aims to raise awareness of the contributions that helicopters make to our society and celebrate the diverse range of people that design, fly and support them. This year will mark the eight year of the event and a first for Port Macquarie.
Throughout the world every day there are people relying on helicopters for rescues, disaster relief, transport, firefighting, medical transfers, powerline maintenance, tourism, agriculture and many more roles.
Affinity Aviation have partnered with some of the local emergency service providers (and some visiting ones too) to provide an opportunity for all of you to come check out the helicopters and gear on display and chat with the crews that operate them!

If you can trace over a drawing, you can easily achieve this workshop. Art therapy and laughter are great ways to alleviate stress. They can offer you both. There are only eight custom frames and eight participants in this one. If you could use a good laugh and don't feel like having an ordinary Saturday, then come and play with them! It's the perfect time to give your brain some time out with some healing art therapy.
Cooeee Sistas presents local Aboriginal silk artist, Debbs Robinson, for a relaxing afternoon on Birpai Country learning to paint on luxurious Habotai eight millimetre Silk with glorious intense silk paints and coloured gutta's.
This intriguing, relaxing workshop will fascinate your mind and tantalise your senses. You will receive 'in depth' tuition by a well known local silk artist who will guide you through this ancient process to create your 48 centimetre x 48 centimetre Silk square to take home. Everything is supplied for you. Designs, silk paints, gutta's, mediums, Japanese sumi brushes and the use of custom made frames all make this a very easy process to complete your masterpiece.
A scrumptious afternoon tea will also be provided. There's nothing to compare with the joy of painting on silk. Treat yourself to something special. You deserve it!

Spend some quality time out, by yourself or with your family, mates and loved ones creating some awesome art in this workshop. If you haven't done this .... you've been missing out on a whole lot of fun! Spend a few of hours having some mind relaxation art therapy with them and just breathe, be creative, totally relax!
You can choose from the myriad of references or bring a picture you'd like to do! You will be gently guided and assisted to complete your work. If you follow the drawing tips passed onto you and apply them to all your artworks, it will result in much better success at drawing freehand with better accuracy, a better 'eye' to really see your subject, improved precision, perspective and attention to detail! You will explore aspects of watercolour painting, charcoal drawing, shading and erasing, creamy soft pastels, coloured inks and other mixed media, blending them together to help you produce your masterpiece! How long since you did something just for you? You deserve some time out to give your brain a rest from the stresses of everyday life and it's the perfect place to do just that on the Hastings foreshore with Cooeee Sistas Art!
