Scott and Sarah Rohdich say the decision to put down roots in Port Macquarie was an easy one, after years spent living overseas, including time in Scott’s Irish homeland.
“You can get what you need from a lot of towns, but Port Macquarie is the pick.” Scott says.
In 2018 the couple joined forces with friends to found the Hauslein Tiny House Company.
Setting up a manufacturing base mid-way between Sydney and Brisbane provides easy access to a large population base, and the major east coast tradeshows.
“For me, Port Macquarie is big enough to have all the opportunities for us as a couple, for our kids, for business. It has everything we need to make life work, but it’s small enough that it doesn’t feel crowded or rat-racey,” Sarah says.

Today they are thankful for everything they have for themselves, their kids, and for the business, and for Irishman Scott, it’s a lot warmer.
