Australia Day is an opportunity for all Australians to come together to celebrate their country, culture and reflect on what it means to live in the best country in the world. Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is presenting a number of activities and celebrations across the region this Australia Day in Port Macquarie, Wauchope and the Camden Haven.
Port Macquarie Australia Day Ceremony and Activities Town Green 8am - 5pm
Bring the kids along to enjoy the jumping castle, giant slide and variety of children’s games. On stage entertainment throughout the day. Lots of market and food stalls. Bring along your own piece of history to be assessed by a valuer at the 'What's it Worth?' Collectibles Showcase. Official program commences at 3pm where recipients of the 2019 Port Macquarie Hastings Council Australia Day Awards will be announced. So bring a chair or picnic rug and enjoy this important presentation plus a Citizenship Ceremony. Come along and meet our Australia Day Ambassador Narelle Campbell. Event concludes at 5.00pm
Line the foreshore and watch the flotilla of craft pass by on the Hastings River at Lady Nelson Wharf. Activities include Dragon Boat races, Jet ski demonstration, mock rescue Dress up your own boat and head out onto the water. Jump on board Port Jet Cruise Adventures or Cruise Port Macquarie (charges apply) and watch all the activities from the water.
Breakfast on top of North Brother Mountain available from 7:30am (gold coin donation). Official program commences at 8.00am and includes a Citizenship Ceremony, flag raising by Camden Haven Girl Guides and Australia Day Address by Camden Haven School Captains. Wauchope Australia Day Ceremony Wauchope Showground 8am - 2pm
Day begins with Farmers Market stalls from 8am. Vintage Car and Steam Machinery displays. FREE waterslides, jumping castle and bungee run. Variety of food stalls. Official Program commences at 11am and includes a Citizenship Ceremony, Hastings District Pipers, Australia Day Ambassador Address by Narelle Campbell
