A visit to Port Macquarie is not complete without a visit to Kooloonbung Creek Nature Park, which includes a Historic Cemetery. Visitors to Port Macquarie find the Park and the Historic Cemetery most conveniently accessible - being a five minute walk along Horton Street from the centre of town, at the Gordon Street intersection.

Covering some 52 hectares, the Nature Reserve preserves an area of natural bushland, furnished with two walking tracks and boardwalks, allowing you to wander and enjoy the beauty of the area and the relevant eco-systems.

In the well maintained Historic Cemetery are graves of notable early settlers of the Hastings area.

A map of the Park and information about the Park's eco-systems and wildlife is located on site at the information hut, between the arboretum and the Historic Cemetery.

Wheelchair Access: There are ten entrances to the Park. Visitors using wheelchairs or motorised scooters can enjoy most of the Park. There are only two sets of steps on Circuit One - one near the Gordon Street bridge and one between Glebe Close and Anita Crescent. Circuit Two has no steps.
