Proudly situated in the heart of our CBD is this majestic architect designed building, housing a state-of-the-art 588 seat theatre, Regional Art Gallery, shop, Visitor Information Centre, conferencing facilities, a foyer, bar and studio. The basement features heritage and archaeological displays dating from the 1820s.
The venue regularly attracts national and international acts, from Opera and ballet through to pop icons. You can book a 'behind the scenes' tour of this fascinating building and discover the inner workings of the theatre.
Featuring many exhibitions throughout the year of contemporary, indigenous, historical, traditional, design and sculptural artworks; the Glasshouse Regional Gallery program aims to support and provide professional development opportunities to regional artists within the local community.
Touring exhibitions provide access to quality artists and cultural experiences not otherwise available within the region. The Gallery also provides a range of education opportunities directly associated with the exhibition program.
