Accessible Port Macquarie

Accessible Port Mac…

Port Macquarie Hastings is for everyone to enjoy.

We’re a region known for our friendly folk and inclusive vibe. We know that many people face mobility restrictions, and we’re on a journey to improve accessibility and enjoyment for all.

Beach Fun for Everyone: Ask our lifeguards at Town Beach, Flynns Beach, Rainbow Beach and North Haven Beach about our beach wheelchairs (Sandcruisers), or call 0422 312 940 during business hours to book in advance.

Scenic Pathways

Enjoy a safe and reasonably flat pathway from the heart of Port Mac, meandering along the river, past the wharves, to the inclusive playground at Westport Park. Head in the other direction and explore the colourful Breakwall leading from Town Green to Town Beach, with accessible ramps to cafes, a wheelchair-friendly swing, and accessible toilets enroute. Further south, enjoy the magnificent views from the heritage-listed Tacking Point Lighthouse, or head to the Camden Haven- the North Haven Breakwall is level and connects to a lovely pathway alongside the Camden Haven River, which you can take all the way around to riverside township of Laurieton.

Fishing

• McInherney Park's recently upgraded pontoon is equipped with a gangway for wheelchair access, and is close to sheltered picnic tables, BBQ areas, convenient parking, and toilet facilities.

• The wheelchair-friendly fishing platform at Lake Cathie features handrails and a low guardrail for easy casting, located on the southern side of the Lake Cathie Foreshore, near the Aqua Crescent car park.

• You can hire a BBQ Boat from Jordan’s Boating Centre. Boats are wheelchair accessible.
